What we do

The Richmond Fellowship of NSW:

  • Provides a range of accommodation services that enable people with mental illness to live in the community in an environment of support and acceptance.
  • Provides and facilitates access to recovery and psychosocial rehabilitation programs that assist each person to optimise his or her potential to live a satisfying and meaningful life.
  • Prepares people with mental illness to take greater responsibility for their lives.
  • Provides flexible services that meet the identified needs of people with mental illness.
  • Involves friends and families in the services it provides.
  • Promotes positive attitudes towards people with a mental illness in the community and works to overcome prejudice and stigma.
  • Lobbies governments for increased resources that will improve services for people with a mental illness.
  • Acts as an advocate for the rights of people with a mental illness.
  • Improves the quality of mental health care through staff development, education and on-the-job training.
